spells and magic for kids

Christians: What do you think about role playing video games?

where your character can cast magic spells

If it's just fun is it ok?

I can understand little kids not knowing between fantasy and reality/right from wrong or whatever. What about adults?

My husband and I play Magic, The Gathering, a card game and are playing a video game, Gauntlet. I don't personally feel like there is anything wrong with this but I know people have other opinions.

Birdy: There are a few verses in Scripture that cover certain activities that the Bible is not too clear on whether it is good or bad.

I don't have time to search them out right now, but the main message conveyed is that sometimes there are some activities that are okay for some people but not for others and that we should not do anything that would cause another person to stumble in their walk with Christ.

i.e. It is okay for us to have a glass of wine with our dinner, but we should not do this in the company of a person who is struggling with alcohol addiction.

So if this game that you and your husband are playing is not causing you, him or any other person to stumble, then go for it and have fun.

EDIT: Birdy, I had to go look up the verses. Romans 14 12-23
