It's that time of year when either fear or love of the holiday season. With the hustle and bustle and crowds of obligations that may do something crazy. Add to that the fact that you can get the opportunity to spend part of the holiday with their families that is seldom seen (and some that drive you crazy) and appear to have no control over holiday experience whatsoever.
I am here to say that simply is not. I do not expect me to take it at face value that you create your own reality and their best or worst holiday. I invite you to take a lesson from the Who in Whoville.
The timeless classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is a classic tale of Dr. Seuss. Therein lies the secret to not only have a big party, but with a great life.
In the story, the Grinch hates Christmas. Hates how WHO in Whoville are always so happy and joyful holiday. He hates love, song, joy, and everything about her. So, he decides to steal Christmas from them. He steals all their decorations, food, toys and gifts. He that will ruin your holiday and there will be celebration and joy.
To his great surprise, however, Christmas comes anyway. The Who have none of their stuff "and the day certainly does not seem that they were planning, but they are happy anyway. They sing with joy and gather to celebrate the love anyway! They sing and dance, and exude joy and happiness despite the efforts of the Grinch. The true spirit the party exists within their hearts and that's all that mattered.
While the story may sound a bit corny and the song "Daho Doray" gets stuck head for days after seeing the essence of the story contains a message for us all. The real things in this world can not buy and create our own Indeed, regardless of the circumstances around us. How can you change your perspective and create a wonderful day at this time? How could you approach the holiday with a different mindset to enjoy immensely regardless of how others act or what they believe? What kind of person who needs be the creation of 2007 as his best year?
