What do you make of this and what should I do?
Goal: I want my best friend to like me.
Problem: When she was asked by her friends, who she refers to< as fan girls because they treat us like a celebrity couple, she said she liked someone else but declined to say who.
Our Current Standing: She used to like me, but I did not feel the same at the time because I wasn't interested in girls yet. (I'm 17 now and I didn't start becoming interested in girls until I was almost 16.) She is currently my best friend and I confide with her on my problems. We spend a lot of time together. She gave me a cute nickname which I cannot spell. She calls, texts, and/or video chats with me every day. She puts her head on my shoulder when she is tired or crying when she is upset because of "girl issues."
What do you make of this? Is she lying to get her friends off her back? Is she trying to make< me jealous? Does she still like or at least have feelings for me? How do I get her to like me again if she doesn't like me now?

I think she has feelings for you. Girls want what they can't have, so in the back of her mind she will always want you regardless of what's going on in the front of her mind. If she is making so much of an effort to stay in contact with you, it's quite clear that she wants your attention.
Just be there for her and show her that you care.
