What is the explanation for the way magic works for those who practice the Wiccan path? Why do spells work?
To be a witch is to join forces with the energies that keep the Universe together. And as we understand whta that actually means, why spells work become clearer and clearer...
But most of the time it is hard to put into work and explain how they work, but they do.
Here is a real example, my husband has had trouble sleeping lately. So I went to a local store and bought a few "mystical stones." I hand washed them and let them soak in purified sea salt for 3 full days. I then concentrated on filling them with energy - charging them - and then put a sleep better spell on them. They now sit on the on the bedside table nearest my husband and he is sleeping much better.
Here is another real example. During the winter, I have a big problem with dry skin. I created my own soap and as a witch, I included a spell of good health as part of the ingredients of the soap along with useful herbs. I wash with it, and no longer have dry skin problem.
When witches in Wicca make soap, a spell, energize a crystal, etc. we are putting our intentions into the object or spell. These are good intentions, made with the understanding they will only work, if the Goddess approves of these intentions. It is like how you treat your pets. Pour your love into them and they are happy pets. Treat them badly and they will be mean and cursed pets...
Why do spells work? Because we ask them to and we create our spells under the rules we learn that govern the way the Universe works, a belief system to keep one in balance with all nature, this earth and the universe.
